Vincent Cauntay

Bio/Description

Hi! I'm Vince, I am a second year graduate student in SPIA's Master in Public Affairs program. I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, and graduated from Texas Tech University in 2016. There, I majored in Humanities and in Spanish, writing an honor's thesis on propaganda artists during the Spanish Civil War. After graduating, I spent two years in Chongqing, China as a Peace Corps Volunteer, where I was an English teacher at a technical college. Before coming to Princeton, I lived in San Francisco for three years, working as an Asylum Officer for the federal government, where I had the responsibility of interviewing refugees applying for asylum in the U.S. and adjudicating their applications. My hobbies include hiking and spending time in nature, boxing, watching movies (especially pretentious art house and international films) and learning languages! So excited to get to know all of you next year!
