Greetings y'all! My name is Soraya Patterson and I am from Houston, Texas! I just declared Molecular Biology, planning to minor in Neuroscience, and am a pre-med. Outside of school, I am actively involved in outreach with Christian Union NOVA, a long and triple jumper on the Varsity Track and Field team, and love to participate in dance and theater productions along the way. I enjoy reading (everything from historical fiction to dystopian novels), baking, and taking walks around campus—it's gorgeous in the fall and spring :). I am looking forward to being your PAA and helping you get excited about your unique journey and supporting you in your academic exploration!

What's a favorite memory from your first year at Princeton?
Eating smores and singing worship songs with my Christian fellowship :)!
What's a Princeton class that has shaped the way you think and why?
REL303: Biomedical Ethics (Class #42686). I took this class my sophomore spring and aside from challenging and encouraging me to think critically about certain medical cases, this course continuously reminded me of the importance of thinking about why I believe/or think the way I do. It is these themes of inquiry and foundations of complex thought that have shaped how I approach learning and reflection that I will bring with me into my future professional career.
What's your favorite place to study on campus?
I love to study in the genomics building (Ichan) or the engineering library!
