Operations Research and Financial Engineering

Hey there! I'm Sahithi, and I'm from Amarillo, a small city in West Texas! I'm a pre-med senior in the Operations Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE) department, and I'm also planning to get certificates in Computer Science and Engineering Biology! You can find me doing a couple of different things around campus; I'm a part of Triangle Club and PURE, a volunteer with Big Sibs, and an officer of Tower Club. Outside of school, I love trivia, watching reality TV, and just vibing with my friends! Feel free to talk to me about literally anything-- like being unsure about your major, being pre-med, your favorite TV show, or the hottest campus debate!

What’s a favorite memory from your first year at Princeton?
Getting to celebrate my birthday with my friends, even though it was during midterms week!

What’s a Princeton class that has shaped the way you think and why?
While COS424 (Fundamentals of Machine Learning) sounds like just another COS class, I found that it was incredibly important in shaping the way I thought about ML/AI. The projects for the class were all centered around very important social subjects, like the BLM movement, so learning how technology can be used (and misused) first-hand in these contexts was very eye-opening.
