Bio/Description

Nicola Trowbridge Cooney (B.A. King's College University of London, Ph.D. Harvard University) directs the Portuguese language program as well as Princeton’s summer program in Lisbon, Portugal and teaches courses on the cultures and literatures of the Portuguese-speaking world. Her research interests include second-language acquisition, poetry, Luso-African literature and film and identity politics in the Luso-Afro-Asian-Brazilian sphere. She lives in NYC and is the proud mother of Sebastian.
