Sophomores: Course Offerings and new Add/Drop period

Wednesday, Jul 22, 2020

Dear Butler Sophomores,

I hope this message finds you all doing very well!

You’ve just received the message from the Registrar about changes to Course Offerings. I wanted to follow up to say that I’m sure you have lots of questions and to let you know that we’re here to help.

The most important changes to note now are:

(1)    Add/drop period in early August

You’ll have the opportunity to modify your fall schedule during a new add/drop period from August 3-August 7th. (You’ll also be able to change your schedule during the normal add/drop period during the first two weeks of the semester, August 31-September 11)

(2)    Pre-recorded course components:

All instruction, whether virtual or in person, will be given at the time indicated for that section unless specifically stated otherwise.

Courses that have a prerecorded component will have a new time notation of “Pre-Recorded”, indicating a course component that students will take via Blackboard or Canvas as specified by the professor of the course, but not at a specific day and time.

I strongly encourage you to reach out to me or your faculty adviser with any questions before you make changes to your schedule during the August 3-7 add/drop period. I’ll be hosting two Zoom “ask me anything” sessions about changes to Course Offerings next week, on July 29th and 31st. The times and Zoom links are as follows:

Wednesday, July 29, 6:00-7:00pm EST -

Friday, July 31, 11:00am-noon EST -

You can also make an appointment with me on WASE.
