Dear Butler Sophomores and Juniors,
I write to remind you that the deadline to apply to be a Peer Academic Adviser (PAA) is this Sunday, March 19 at 11:59pm. I hope you will consider applying for this important and rewarding position.
PAAs are an essential part of Butler’s academic advising team: they work closely with RCAs in supporting the transition of first-year zees to Princeton and they help all students negotiate academic challenges and their academic pathways towards majors and minors/certificates.
Our PAAs are from a wide range of AB and BSE departments. You do NOT have to have a near-perfect GPA in order to be eligible; students who have overcome challenges in their academic work have important advice and perspectives to share!
To be a Peer Academic Adviser you must be available for a welcome event May 4 and for PAA training and first-year orientation from August 24–September 4. You must also be available to assist with ClassPath, the academic advising mini course for first-years, this summer. This is a 10-hour commitment spread across July 17–August 11, scheduled at your convenience.
Normally, students serve as PAAs for the residential college they are affiliated with at the time of their PAA application.
Please read carefully the PAA Info Sheet for AY23–24. Applications are due March 19 by 11:59pm ET, with some applicants being invited to proceed to the interview stage.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me and current Butler PAAs with any questions. I look forward to working with another great PAA team next year!
All the best,
Dr. Lazen
