PAA Applicant Info Session: 2/25, 4:30-5:30, Whitman Common Room

Feb. 24, 2025

Dear Butler Sophomores and Juniors,

I'm writing to invite you to attend the first PAA info session tomorrow, Feb. 25, 4:30-5:30pm in the Whitman Common Room, and to apply to join our fantastic cohort of Peer Academic Advisers (PAAs) for Academic Year 2025–26.

As a reminder, PAAs are an essential part of Butler’s academic advising team: they work closely with RCAs in supporting the transition of first-year zees to Princeton and they help all students negotiate academic challenges and their academic pathways towards majors and minors/certificates.

Our PAAs are from a wide range of AB and BSE departments. You do NOT have to have a near-perfect GPA in order to be eligible; students who have overcome challenges in their academic work have important advice and perspectives to share!

To be a Peer Academic Adviser you must be available for a welcome event during spring reading period (date TBD) and for PAA training and first-year orientation from August 21–August 31. You must also be available to assist with ClassPath, the academic advising mini course for first-years, this summer. This is a 10-hour commitment spread across July 14–August 8, scheduled at your convenience.

Normally, students serve as PAAs for the residential college they are affiliated with at the time of their PAA application.

Please attend an info session to learn more about the PAA role.

  • Tuesday, February 25 from 4:30–5:30 pm (Whitman Common Room)
  • Thursday, February 27 from 12:30–1:30 pm (NCW Private Dining Room)
  • Friday, March 7 from 3–4pm (Mathey Private Dining Room)

Please read carefully the PAA Info Sheet for AY25–26. Applications are due March 16 by 11:59pm ET, with some applicants being invited to proceed to the interview stage.

Apply here by March 16.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me and Butler PAAs with any questions. I look forward to working with another great PAA team next year!

Best,

Dr. Lazen
