A message to the Butler Community from the Butler College Staff

Tuesday, Jun 2, 2020

Dear Butler Community,

The events of the past week, since the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, have shaken our nation to its core.  Their senseless deaths have added to a long history of horrific examples of systemic racism and brutality.  Black Lives Matter, and we stand arm in arm with all those speaking out and protesting against racism in all of its forms.  As a residential college and as members of the University community we are committed to confronting racism and oppression wherever we find it, both inside and outside our institution.  The Butler staff is here to support you in the midst of this national crisis, which we recognize is compounded by a global pandemic disproportionately affecting communities of color and those suffering from the economic toll of the coronavirus.  We stand with all of our students, and please do not hesitate to reach out to us if we are able to help in any way.
