To Butler College Families, Class of 2024

Dear Butler First-Year Family Members:

The Butler College Office Staff and I are delighted that your student will be affiliated with Butler College during the next four years.  We realize that these are difficult and turbulent times, and that many of the planning details about this fall are still being resolved, up to and including, perhaps, whether or not your student intends to be on-campus or enrolled remotely from home.   We want to reassure you that regardless of a student’s physical location, the staff of the college are all working hard to make sure that Butler will continue to serve as a “home base” for all of our first-year, sophomore, and upperclass students.  We foster a close-knit intellectual and social community through a broad range of mentorship and advising opportunities, supplemented by a wide array of supportive programming.  We also strive to connect all of our students with the resources and support structures that will help them thrive at Princeton.  These goals remain the same regardless of any student’s status, whether on-campus or remote, every semester.

Although your student is the one who will be affiliated with Butler, we consider you a member of the Butler family as well.  We invite you to learn more about Butler and the college staff by visiting our website at https://butlercollege.princeton.edu.  The University will be finalizing move-in and virtual orientation plans soon, and this information will be posted on the University website (https://fall2020.princeton.edu/) and the Butler College homepages as soon as it is available.

If you would like to see photos of various events and people at Butler, please follow us on Instagram or “like us” on Facebook; we can be found @ButlerCollege-Princeton University.  This provides a great space to feature a Butler “student of the week,” send out happy birthday messages, and post photos from the various academic lectures and social programs at Butler.  We hope to be able to feature your student on those sites in the next year.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome you to the Butler College family and we look forward to getting to know you over the next four years.

Best regards,

Signature of Head Armstrong
